Today, I’m sharing how I’m giving a boring Living Room a beautiful new look with an Off White Living Room Makeover with budget-friendly projects!
Off White Living Room Makeover
Welcome, welcome. I’m so excited to share my off white Living Room Makeover Plans with you!
This Living Room design plan includes building furniture, upholstering old chairs, remodeling our fireplace wall, and completely changing the layout of the room.
For the last six years, I’ve left our living room as a boring but functional space for babies to play in. So, it’s time to start shaking things up, adding style, and going for that colorful, but light and bright feel I’ve been adding around the rest of the house.
But first, let’s see those embarrassingly boring before photos, right?! 😉

This layout works. But it’s really not taking the best advantage of all that space. It’s designed around giving babies and toddlers floor space to play in front of mommy.
Now that they’re older, I’m ready for more quiet in my life. You know what I mean. 😉
So, I’m redesigning the layout for family life without the toys. And, I am so excited about this new floor plan!

Microfiber is not exciting, guys. AND neither is beige. But it is super easy to clean and has been a great couch with babies.
Now that my boys are growing up, at 3 and 5 years old. I probably won’t be getting a new couch this month. But, hopefully soon.

This house has great bones, right? I love all the millwork and traditional moldings that give this home personality. Now I need to play those up and let them stand out more.
Switching to a light paint color on walls and going for matching ceilings has made that millwork pop!

Now that you’ve seen those before photos, let’s get into the off white Living Room design ideas.

White Living Room Makeover Ideas and Plans
I’ve got blue velvet fabric, a blue and white woven fabric I’ve used before, and those pretty paisley curtains picked out. I’ll be using them with a few teal green and gold accent pieces around the room.

That curtain hanger is part of the Martha Stewart Heritage Oak line at Home Depot.

Here’s a rough idea of the new floor plan. Outside those windows is our pool, loads of flowers, and our barn and donkeys. It’s a fantastic view.
Why didn’t I take advantage of this view sooner? Now it will be the star!

And here’s a peek at the new off white paint I’m using in this Living Room. I’ve been living on that scaffolding this week. But, it’s nearly done and looking fantastic!

I thought about updating this stone and slate around the fireplace with something a bit more elegant. I used that flower-patterned marble tile in our kitchen.
It would look great, but will probably have to wait until later.

To make all of these changes happen, I’ve been busily planning and gathering inspiration. Yes, that means lots and lots of hard Pinterest hours, right.
But it was worth it. I’m so excited about this Living Room redo plan and ready to start working. Yea!

Fellow blue lover here! Can't wait to see how this room turns out! The plans look so lovely!
I'm going to have to rent scaffolding for the first time in my life and I'm terrified. I hate heights. Maybe I'll hire this one out. hahaha

Thanks, Teri! I hope you like the reveal. :) Scaffolding really is pretty scary, if you think about it too much. My husband can't get to the top level. He just shakes the whole time. I just listen to podcasts and try not to think about it too much. Actually, I finished the living room, foyer, and our front porch. So my husband is returning the scaffolding now. Yea!!!
